DirectX: Soldier of Fortune II requires that your computer have the latest version of DirectX 8.1 installed in order to run.
This is included with Soldier of Fortune II and will run automatically during installation, and is also available online at: http://www.microsoft.com

PunkBuster: During the installation of Soldier of Fortune II Gold Edition (or patch v1.3) you will be given the option to install Even Balance, Inc.'s PunkBuster anti-cheat system. This is optional, however if it is not installed you will not be able to play on servers that have PunkBuster enabled. Note that if you opt to not install PunkBuster during installation you will need to uninstall and reinstall the game, opting to install it the second time.

Uninstalling: Soldier of Fortune II can be uninstalled from your system from the Add/Remove programs section of the Windows Control Panel (Start -> Settings -> Control Panel). Select Soldier of Fortune II from the list of applications installed and select Change/Remove, then follow the instructions on screen.
If an uninstall is cancelled during uninstallation, retry uninstalling from the splash screen that pops up when the disc is inserted.
